La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Lubbock South

The place is nice but for $125 a night!!! You would think the bed would be nice. Worst sleep I’ve ever had, the bed sinks in and me and my husband roll to the middle. I don’t have back issues but today I do. I stay in a lot of hotels due to work travel. I’ve never been up all night in pain. After being in a car for 19 hours just would of liked a comfortable bed and rest… NOT WORTH $125 that’s for sure!!!!

We stay at this location about every month . It is half way between our cabin in Colorado and out home in Texas . We usually love this place but this time we got in late last night. I was looking forward to a nice hot shower . There was no soap , only one wash rag and only one hand towel and the phone didn’t work ! So we couldn’t call the desk . My husband went down to get coffee this morning…. No coffee! He asked the lady at the desk : her response was well I have an invoice to get done . He came back to the room and when we went down to let the dogs out , there was still no coffee . They finally made it later . The beds are comfortable. I am sure they are short handed like a lot of places but it was disappointing for sure . The people are normally very nice and accommodating.

We always stay here when going between Texas and Colorado. Called ahead twice knowing we were coming in late, to note/ reserve a room on the first floor for pets. As we have always done no issues. Both times we were told no problem, but overall the front desks communication was pretty rude. Trying to check in no one was to be found. After 20+ min my husband called the front desk for someone to actually come out to check us in. Rude beyond measures, like why we are bothering him. Then to stick us on the 4th floor. Stained bedsheets, barely any towels in the bathroom. Given the attitude we already had received and it being late, a long day driving ahead of us the next day, we stuck out the night. Not sure using points equals this treatment. Being a loyal rewards member we never have been more appalled with a la Quinta stay and should have gone elsewhere.

The most unfriendly “pet friendly” hotel we’ve ever stayed at. We always choose LaQuinta hotels because of their pet policies so I was very surprised when this location required a pet deposit at check in. They also had us sign a waiver stating our dog would never be left unattended. I asked if it would be ok if she was put in her kennel (she is kennel trained) while we went to grab dinner and told if she was left alone they would immediately call animal control. That should have been my first sign that staying at this hotel would be a nightmare. Once we got to our room, an executive suite with a pullout bed for our son, we discovered that there was no bedding for his bed. I went downstairs to get some and was told they didn’t have any to fit that bed. I was given a thin blanket (the decorative top one that is more like a sheet) and told that was all they had. So even though we paid for the two beds he ended up sleeping with us in the king bed because there was no bedding for him. We were there three days and not once was the trash emptied or the bed made. They did come in and provide towels but that was the extent of their housekeeping. We also only had hot water for one day after repeatedly telling the front desk that our hot water wasn’t working. Two days of cold showers in December is ridiculous. After checkout I received a call from the location telling me that we owed an additional $50 in pet fees and I refused to pay it. Number one, our dog did no damage to the room or had any accidents. She was with us the entire time. And number two, given that we paid for two beds and only got one. Had no hot water, and emptied our own trash they’re lucky I didn’t demand a full refund. I absolutely do not recommend this location.
